Sweepstake Rules and Regulation
A sweepstakes system stimulates interest and competition among Association breeders. The Arizona State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association Sweepstake System has two parts; the Breed Sweepstake and the Quality Sweepstake. In the Breed Sweepstakes a member is granted points for Best of Breed, Best Opposite Sex and First through Fifth place in class as shown in the attached tables. In the Quality Sweepstake a member is awarded a fixed number of points for Best in Show, Best Reserve in Show, Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex.
The Association Sweepstakes Chairman tabulates the total number of points earned by each member at sanctioned shows during the calendar year. The Sweepstakes year ends December 31. The top members in the open and youth standing at the end of the year, based on the total number of sweepstakes points earned, will each receive an award from the Arizona State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association. The member with the highest number of quality points will receive an award.
The rules and regulations for the Sweepstakes Shows are as follows:
The member club sponsoring the show must contact the Arizona State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association, Inc. Secretary requesting permission to sanction their show at least thirty (30) days before the show.
A fee of $5.00 must be forwarded with the sanction request.
The full names of the sponsoring club, the town, state and dates) must be given as well as the ARBA Sanction number(s).
A fee of $0.10 per paid entry in ARBA show classes must be forwarded with the show report. These funds cover the awards given at the banquet during the state convention/ show February of each year.
The Sweepstakes offer must be stated in the show catalog or premium list showing the name of the Association, secretary and address and yearly dues.
The report form provided must be filled out completely and returned to the Sweepstakes Chairman within thirty (30) days. The report must include the number of breeders and number of animals in each Best of Breed and Best Opposites Sex. Names and address of exhibitors are very important and must be included in the report. Members, please use only one consistent name when showing. Incomplete reports will be returned.
All animals must be the bonafide property of the exhibitor. Each owner’s personal name(s) must be listed on the entry form. Sweepstake points will be awarded in the exhibitor’s personal name(s). Sweepstake points will not be award in family or rabbitry names.
Youth exhibitors may enter sanctioned youth shows through the age of eighteen (18) years. Upon reaching the age of nineteen (19) years, sweepstake points earned during that year will be transferred to the Open competition.
If a Specialty Club does not offer a youth show, sweepstake points earned by exhibiting in the Specialty Open show will be tabulated in the Youth competition.
Sweepstake points may be earned by exhibiting at County and State Fair Shows and Agricultural Expositions, provide they comply with ARBA Show Rules. County and State Fair Shows and Agricultural Expositions must pay the sanction fees and file reports required to sanction their show with the Arizona State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association.

Quality points are cumulative. Specialty shows BOB do not count as BIS in any of the Arizona State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association various sweepstakes.
